Cuddle Barn Turns Lil Bub into Plush

COMMERCE, CA - Lil Bub, a caricature-like real cat that has its own online talk show, is getting cuddlier. Cuddle Barn was named a licensee for the Internet sensation and will release a line of Lil Bub plush by spring 2014.
Known for her kitten-like appearance, wide eyes and protruding tongue, Lil Bub premiered online in 2011 when owner, Michael Bridavsky, posted photos of the kitten on Tumblr. The cat's popularity took off, and she was soon featured on Good Morning American, The View and social news websites.
The cat is also the subject of the award-winning Lil Bub & Friendz, a documentary that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 18, 2013, and won the Tribeca Online Festival Best Feature Film. The film will be made public on September 3, 2013, which has been dubbed Good Job Bub Day, and also marks the official release of her new book, "Lil Bub's Lil Book" from Gotham Books, Penguin Publishing, as well as her new web series, "Lil Bub's Big Show", which is being produced for Revision3, A Discovery Digital Network.
To date Lil Bub has also helped to raise more than $80,000 for various charities through her online store, meet-and-greets and other charitable endeavors. Lil Bub has partnered with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA); a portion of all proceeds made from the plush will go to the Bub Emergency Fund. Bridavsky and Cuddle Barn and HAP Consulting will also be making donations accordingly from all sales of the plush.
"My vet looked at her and said she was the most unique cat he'd ever seen in his life," says Mr. Bridavsky. "From the moment I brought her home, I realized she very well might be the most amazing creature on the planet. And it's been a wonderful and unexpected surprise to see how much happiness and inspiration she has brought to the world. I'm thrilled to be working with the plush experts at Cuddle Barn to finally be able to give BUB's fans the opportunity to bring home their very own Lil BUB."
