Jewelry Designer Carolyn Forsman Passes Away

NEW YORK - Jewelry designer Carolyn Forsman passed away on January 19 after a short illness. She was 69.
A former educator and librarian, Forsman was well known in the gift industry as a gifted jewelry designer with a passion for literacy and reading. Her Conversation Piece Jewelry line included her "I Read Banned Books" bracelet, which promoted the freedom to read.
She was named to the Honor Roll of Freedom in 2001 by the Freedom to Read Foundation and received the Museum Store Association Service Award in 2009. She is survived by a sister, Barbara, nieces Megan and Rebecca and nephew Jason. A memorial service will be scheduled for this spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute or Freedom to Read Foundation.
