Shaw Rugs models new Kathy Ireland lineup

Shaw Rugs drew a crowd at its sixth-floor showroom at the Atlanta International Area Rug Show earlier this month when it hosted Kathy Ireland, who was on site to launch the newest addition to her Kathy Ireland Home collection of licensed rugs — Young Attitudes.
"When Shaw expressed its interest in getting into juvenile rugs, I did what any self-respecting mom would have done — I groveled and begged," Ireland said. "It's important for me that these rugs be added to my collection. We can't properly serve families without addressing the needs of children." Ireland expressed that, although the collection is designated as juvenile, it was designed with older children in mind, too. Young Attitudes, in fact, targets the tweener and teen market, ages 9 through 18, said Jeff Meadows, vp, Shaw Rugs.
"We are very excited about Young Attitudes," Meadows added. "Kathy's collection is our No. 1 collection here at Shaw."
Young Attitudes is available in 11 designs in the woven polypropylene construction and eight patterns in the printed nylon rugs.
The price points for a 5.5' x 7.8' size average $149 for printed nylon rugs and $249 for polypropylene rugs. Young Attitudes targets mid-tier retailers, Ireland said.
Ireland also noted that the designs were made specifically to fit throughout the home.
"These rugs can of course be used in children's rooms, but they also serve to designate a place in the living room or family room where the kids can play and hang out," she said.
