7W Winter Market Highlights
7 West will once again feature the One-of-a-Kind Wholesale Show during the New York Gift & Home Textiles Market Week. The show, which made its debut during the summer market, will take place in the 11th floor Market Suites, January 24–27. The section will feature original work for a juried selection of artists, artisans and designers. There will be an opening night party on Saturday, January 24. 
The winter market will also feature International Buyer Appreciation Days, Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24. On Sunday, January 25, 7W will participate in Gift for Life’s Stakes Are High Casino night, benefiting DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS. Tickets are $150. Buyers can celebrate Mardi Gras on Monday, January 26, for an evening of late night shopping. New Orleans jazz will be playing in the lobby, appetizers and drinks will be served, and each floor will offer the chance to win a Mardi Gras vacation for two.

Pacific Market Center to Host Seminars and Events
During the Seattle Market Week: Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show, Pacific Market Center will offer complimentary seminars by a number of industry leaders and professionals from the retail, marketing and merchandising industries including Jim Sinegal, co-founder and CEO of Costco Wholesale Corp.; Leatrice Eisman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute and Chris Nielsen, vice president Amazon.com Home & Garden. The Market Center will also host a Northwest Lodge Party, Thursday, January 22; Friday Late Night Buying, January 23 and Chinese New Year Party on Monday, January 26, with food, drinks, entertainment and giveaways. The Seattle Market Week: Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show will be held at the Pacific Market Center, January 21–January 27.

AmericasMart Building 2 WestWing to Debut Home Component
This January, the debut of Building 2 WestWing allows AmericasMart Atlanta to devote an entire building, Building 1 to Home products. The moving of The Gardens to the new building has opened up two floors (14 and 15) in Building 1, which will allow some of the current Home category exhibitors to expand space and new showrooms to open. These reconfigured floors will be ready for the July 2009 market. When complete, the Home component will include more than 20 floors of products in upholstery, case goods, home accents, home/holiday, fine linens and casual furnishings. In addition to The Gardens, High Design will move to Building 2 West Wing, allowing additional Home exhibit space on floor 10 in Building 1. The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market will take place January 6–14.

National Country & Crafts Show Debuts
The National Country & Crafts Show is set to debut February 7–10 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. The show will feature Americana, antiques, apparel, baskets, books, candles, collectibles, dolls, dried florals, folk art, furniture, garden, handcrafted products, jewelry, lighting, pottery, textiles and more. Among some of the show highlights are free educational seminars, including "Is Retailing Success Really Possible Today? Let’s Count the Ways," on Saturday, February 7; "Plan Now Profit Later Steps to Take Now That Will Make You Stronger When the Economy Rebounds on Saturday,"  February 7; "10 Easy Steps to Create a Web Site" on Sunday, February 8. Other events include a Festive Show Party on Saturday, February 7.

Virginia Gift Show
The Virginia Gift Show will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center March 1–3 and feature more than 400 booths of product including general giftware, tourist merchandise, beach apparel, resort wear, home accents, tabletop, garden gifts and more. The first 100 stores to arrive on Sunday, March 1, and Monday March 2, will receive a shopping bag filled with free gifts from many of the show’s exhibitors. At the close of the show on Sunday, March 3, buyers and exhibitors are invited to a Festive Show Party.

Changes at Boston Gift Show
The Boston Gift Show, scheduled for March 28–31, is now managed by Urban Expositions. The show was previously managed by George Little Management. "The Boston Gift Show has a long tradition of success and we look forward to partnering with regional buyers, sales representatives and other industry members to build upon the show's strengths and future growth potential," said Doug Miller, president of Urban Expositions.
Among some of the show highlights is the Pride of New England Awards. The fourth annual awards program recognizes New Englad retailers for outstanding customer service, creative merchandising, community involvement and a strong demonstration of New England pride. Nominations must be received online by January 4 and winners will be announced during a special awards reception on Saturday, March 28.

Licensing Show Moves to Vegas
The Licensing International Expo, which has taken place in New York City for many years, will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, June 2–4. The show is also featuring three new exhibitor categories: fashion, interactive and sports.
