Richard Gastwirt Michael Antin

American-made stationery manufacturer Checkerboard Ltd., West Boylston, MA, appointed two new executives. Richard Gastwirt was named senior director of marketing, and Michael Antin was named director of IT. Gastwirt most recently ran the marketing department for OpenService, an enterprise software company. Antin most recently served as senior director of IT operations at Health Dialog in Bedford, NH. 






Catherine Choi




Moonachie, NJ-based Bulbrite, a manufacturer and supplier of energy-efficient light source solutions, appointed Cathy Choi to the position of president and Andrew Choi, the former president, to chairman. Cathy Choi previously served as vice president while Andrew Choi served as founder, president and CEO for the past 38 years. In her new position Cathy Choi will oversee all operations of Bulbrite and coordinate sales, marketing, administrative, research and development, and manufacturing activities. She previously served as national sales manager for Bulbrite when she started with the company eight years ago. Prior to joining Bulbrite, She was a director of finance and operations for Independent Pictures, a division of New Line Cinema, and an auditor for Price Waterhouse. She is an American Lighting Association (ALA)-certified Lighting Specialist, a member of the Education Foundation and Manufacturers Steering Committee for the ALA, a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and has an MBA from New York University and a BA from Cornell University. 

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) appointed Peter Stone as DIY sector director effective January 2, 2010. Stone is currently sales and marketing director for Eliza Tinsley Ltd., a UK supplier of chain, rope, hardware and accessories. Stone replaces DIY and brushware sector director Andy Vaughan, who left last month as a result of a "restructuring of the board membership" according to UK trade publication DIYweek. Will Jones has followed Pam Plant as BHETA housewares director, while CEO David French has said he will step down.
