Yankee Candle Opens 500th Store

South Deerfield, MA – The Yankee Candle Co. is opening its 500th retail store at the Square One Mall in Saugus, MA, on March 27.

And more ribbon-cuttings are expected to come: "We are very excited to open our 500th retail store and we continue to look forward to more growth in Massachusetts and elsewhere," Stephen Farley, president of the retail division, said in a statement.

In addition to its 500 stores in 43 states, Yankee Candle has a U.S. wholesale customer network of approximately 19,200 store locations, and an additional 3,600 store locations overseass.

An official grand opening and ribbon-cutting will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 29. Executives from Yankee Candle, plus state and local dignitaries will cut the ribbon. The first 500 guests into the new store will receive a free gift and can register to win a year full of candles. Yankee also partnered with The Greater Boston Food Bank to host a drive to collect 500 pounds of food during the grand opening week. Anyone who contributes will receive a Car Jar air freshener and discount coupon.
