Ambiente Names 26 Design Plus Honorees
Frankfurt, Germany — Ambiente, the International Frankfurt Fair, named 26 companies with 31 products to be honored with a 2008 prestigious Design Plus Award. The awards were determined by an international jury that judged products on the merits of their high levels of design quality, and also distinguish themselves from their competitors with that special plus factor. “Products that have been awarded the Design Plus should function better and demonstrate a coherent overall concept. They are more environmentally friendly, more attractive, more useful and above all distinctive,” states Andrej Kupetz, general manager of the German Design Council and member of the jury. The judges evaluated a total of 613 products submitted from 200 companies. Among the recipients being honored are Alessi and Rosenthal. The prize-winning products will be on view at Ambiente from February 8–12, 2008 in Frankfurt.

The Ambiente Newsletter reports on all news and highlights of the fair to help in pre-market planning. It can be ordered easily and free of charge by clicking on the 'Newsletter' button on the Ambiente website. Also a help in pre-market planning is the website's online exhibitor search capability.

While at the fair, W-LAN availability will allow attendees to surf the Web and communicate from anywhere at the Exhibition Centre. Vouchers for wireless access can be purchased from vending machines at the entrances to the fair. Electronic devices used must already be equipped with a wireless card.

Admission tickets to the fair may be purchased in advance online for a discounted rate and printed out. These tickets also count as tickets for local public-transport services operated by the RMV regional transport authority.
