High Point, NC — Charles Spencer, the ninth Earl, recently made appearances at gift and home furnishings stores in the U.S. and Canada to meet with consumers and promote the Althorp Living History collection from Theodore Alexander. The tour was a whirlwind of 11 stores in six states and one Canadian province in five days. The retailers  visited included: Richard Honquest Fine Furnishings in Barrington, IL; McGannon Showrooms in Dallas; Louis Shanks in San Antonio, TX; Sherrill Collection in Chicago; King's Home Furnishings in Atlanta; Birmingham Wholesale Furniture in Birmingham, AL; Willis Furniture in Virginia Beach, VA; Colony House in Arlington, VA; ABC Carpet & Home in New York; and Design Louis George in Montreal, Canada.

Earl Spencer ’s tour and the Althorp Living History collection help to raise funds for the continued restoration of the Althorp estate, one of England’s oldest country houses and home to the Spencer family. The collection of more than 400 pieces of furniture and accessories are historic designs from the family home.

Hundreds of guests attended the invitation-only retail events at which Earl Spencer engaged the customers, told anecdotes about the collections, posed for photographs, gave autographs, and signed actual pieces of the collection.
