Rebagz Honored as Small Business of the Year

Los Angeles – Marty Stevens-Heebner, creator of Rebagz Eco-Chic Handbags and president of Half the Sky Designs, was presented with the California Small Business of the Year Award during the Sacramento State Legislature’s annual California Business Day. Stevens-Heebner was selected from 3.7 million small businesses in the state; one business owner from each voting district was honored for their contribution to the California economy.

At a time when the nation’s economy is facing great challenges, it is important to recognize the small businesses that drive the economy. More than one half of Californians employed in the private sector work for small businesses.

“This award is really a tribute to our company’s employees and customers, who support the way we do business, It’s a huge honor to be recognized as Small Business of the Year and I especially appreciated receiving it from Senator Carol Liu, who’s the kind of smart, compassionate person we need more of in public office,” said Stevens-Heebner.
