Tabletop Update

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 3/17/2010 7:27:00 AM

New York – Permanent showroom buildings 41 Madison and 7 W New York are gearing up for next month’s New York Tabletop Market. Each market 41 Madison presents a lobby display incorporating products from the building. This time, the building will present an exhibition of art on plates. “Tectonic Plates”, organized and presented by UK-based New English Company, will include work by 100 artists, textile and product designers, photographers, architects and other creative people contributing from around the world. It will be on view April 13–16.

“Our aim is to inject a new look and feeling into the world of tabletop and rethink ceramics for a new, media and design savvy market, thirsting for new products. We are delighted to introduce this exhibition to the North American tableware industry,” said Paul Bishop, founder of New English Company.

Running concurrently with the show is Printsource New York, which focuses on surface and textile design. The fair will be held April 13–14 on the 11th floor of 7 W. Attendees of both shows will have access to all events and lectures, and will honor registration badges, with a business card. Printsource will feature collections by international studios and agents that will offer original and vintage prints and artwork for use in apparel, bed and bath, kitchen and tabletop, paper goods home textiles and other surface and textile design applications.

The New York Tabletop Market is scheduled for April 13–16.
