Licensing Programs Highlight Global Opportunities

New York — Seminar sessions to be held at the upcoming Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas are planned to highlight ways U.S. brands can position and market themselves for growth abroad.

“Knowing how, when and where to utilize licensing to expand the reach of brands in growth markets overseas is more important than ever, given the retail consolidation we see in today’s domestic market,” said Charles Riotto, President of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA), sponsor of Licensing International Expo. “This year’s conference lineup includes global-themed sessions that will give marketers the tools and knowledge they need to succeed while avoiding costly pitfalls.”

International sessions at Licensing International Expo 2010 are as follows:

Monday, June 7
• Extending Your Brand Internationally. 9. a.m. Presenter: Angela Farrugia, Founder, The Licensing Company (TLC)
• Understanding Consumer Trends and Market Research in Europe. 12:30 p.m. Presenter: Roberta Nebbia, Founder and Managing Director, Licensing Italia

Tuesday, June 8
• Cross Border Licensing in Europe. 10 a.m. Presenter: Christian Fortmann, Founding Partner, Sonnenberg Fortmann (part of the 24IP Law Group), examines the legal and technical considerations of cross-border licensing in Europe.
• Licensing in India, China and the Middle East.  3:15 p.m. Presenter: Nagarajan Subramanian, Managing Partner, En Theos Consulting

Wednesday, June 9
• Licensing in Latin America. 3:15 p.m. Presenter: Mary Hume, Founder, Keystone Marketing.

The Licensing International Expo 2009 runs June 8–10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
