Denver —
The United Sales Association (USA) board of directors voted to change the name of the organization to Gift and Home Trade Association (GHTA) to reflect the goals and membership of the group. “The new name more accurately reflects the true membership of the group, which is now about 50 percent manufacturers and 50 percent sales representatives in the gift and home industry,” said GHTA president Trip Van Roden. “It is the only national trade association in this industry, and we wanted a name that reflected that.” The focus of the organization has broadened to include challenges facing independent retailers as well. GHTA is also considering sponsoring a national gift trade show. See page 16 for more details.
