In the Showrooms: April 9

Chicago

Lalique, Haviland and Daum have opened a joint showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart, Suite 1867. The new space features the latest from all three brands, with a central focus on Lalique’s interior design and architectural elements/capabilities. This is the first joint U.S. showroom to include all three French brands, which announced a partnership of their U.S. operations in August 2009. Introductions spotlighted in the showroom include the new Hommage a Rene Lalique collection, Haviland’s Ritz Imperial and Rose de Sables patterns, and Daum’s new Paradise collection.

High Point

Four new showrooms are opening at Market Square: Barclay Butera Lifestyle (Market Square #330), Dovetail Furniture (Suites at Market Square G7031), Hotel Maison (Market Square #348) and Paladin Industries (Market Square #240)

HTL International Group of Companies, HTL, Trend Furniture, and Domicil opened a new 48,000 square foot showroom in Plaza Suites #400 for the upcoming High Point Market, designed by the German firm Aikadesign. HTL Furniture previously occupied an 18,000 square foot showroom on the second floor of Plaza Suites. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 17, followed by a reception from 5-7 pm.

Kansas City

Heritage Lane has a new showroom in the Metcalf South Shopping Center at 95th and Metcalf, Kansas City, KS. It is open Mondays from 10 a.m-4 p.m. and by appointment.

Las Vegas

GuildMaster is nearly doubling its size at Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas, relocating to a 7,621-square-foot atrium-front showroom.

Flexsteel signed a four year lease extension with World Market Center Las Vegas and expanded the showroom, located in Building A-530 and A-520, by 5,400 feet.

New York

Nine new showrooms will debut at 41 Madison during next week’s Spring New York Tabletop Show, five of them on the newly renovated 15th floor. 

Bavarian lead-free crystal maker Eisch USA is opening its first U.S. showroom on the 15th floor. Also on the 15th floor are Kinetic kitchen products in the company’s first permanent showroom. And still more on 15: Signature Housewares returns to Forty One Madison with its line of ceramic table and kitchenware;
Tervis Tumbler adds licensed artwork to the double walled drinkholders that have seen half a century; and Zwilling J.A. Henckels showcases tabletop and gift items, flatware, cutlery and cooking tools; cast iron and ceramic cook and serveware and Demeyere stainless steel cookware. 

Making their bow on other floors are: SJM Home, on the 6th floor, is a new decorative glassware source. Approximately 100 SKUs will be introduced in the new space, including holiday-themed designs. Chinese ceramic brand Auratic USA Inc. is opening a 7,000 square foot showroom on the 14th floor. However, only a portion of the space will be in use for the Market as a complete renovation will take place before the official debut in October. Formation Brands is debuting on the 16th floor, featuring Clay Art, a 41 tenant who the company acquired in 2009, plus the Slant and Stir brands. Also on 16, Rogaska Crystal’s offerings include an introduction by Irish designer Louise Kennedy for Tipperary Crystal. Rogaska Crystal is expanding its brands with celebrity licensing, to be announced soon. 

Also at 41 Madison, six companies have renewed their permanent showroom leases: DeVine Corporation, Laurie Gates, Noritake, Over and Back, Riedel Crystal and Yamazaki Tableware. Several of the showrooms will be relocating to different floors in time for the spring New York Tabletop Market, which runs Tuesday, April 13 to Friday, April 16. Noritake will relocate to the 7th floor; Yamazaki Tableware, to the 9th floor. And Laurie Gates, which is doubling its space , is relocating to the newly renovated 17th floor.
