Designer Greetings Opens New Headquarters

Designer Greetings HeadquartersEdison, NJ — Designer Greetings, greeting card publisher and parent company of the CardSmart brand, cut the ribbon and officially opened its new headquarters in Edison, NJ, on Wednesday, November 12. Designer Greetings’ president Steve Gimbelman, co-president/art director Fern Gimbelman and company co-founder Vickie Gimbelman were joined by Edison mayor Jim Cho and other notables from the Edison Chamber of Commerce, fire and police departments, as well as Designer Greetings’ customers, employees and business neighbors to celebrate the occasion. In addressing the gathering, Steve Gimbelman noted, “This is the culmination of a dream. So, you see, dreams do come true!”

Giving credit where they all believe credit is due, his sister, Fern added, “All our employees helped to make this day possible.” Both Fern and her mother Vickie credited the dedication, persistence and hard work of their employees, as well as the support of their customers for the success and growth of the company. Company employees in turn honored Vickie Gimbelman by presenting her with a plaque of recognition.

Gimbelman’s son Lex, the next generation of the Designer Greetings’ family, christened the new building with a bottle of champagne. The family, led by Vickie, then cut the ribbon to officially open the new quarters. Guests were invited inside to tour the 120,000-square-foot facility, which includes a state-of-the-art “green” warehouse that turns out the lights when it senses that no one is present, a showroom/store prototype, offices and art department design studio. The new location also will accommodate future plans with an additional 100,000 square feet earmarked for expansion at the nine-acre site.

As a complement to the new headquarters, the company will also open a permanent showroom in the new West Wing expansion of Building 2 in AmericasMart Atlanta during the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market in January. The showroom is on the sixth floor off the escalators.

Designer Greetings’ former headquarters were in Staten Island, NY, where it had been located since the company was first founded in 1982. The company offers a wide range of seasonal and everyday greeting cards, gift wrap, gift bags and related items.
