Fashion funnel formed by Glimpse.com

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 4/27/2007 5:56:00 AM

San Mateo, CA. – A new website designed to funnel shoppers to a range of retailers carrying female-friendly apparel, accessories, beauty, jewelry and home décor producs went live this week.

In the home décor area, the new site -- www.glimpse.com -- offered a range from a chenille shag area rug at Urban Outfitters for $12 to the Passion Flower decorative pillow offered by Neiman Marcus at $369.

Shoppers can browse by product category, price or sale status, by store (more than 100 retailers are participating), or by brand – and cross-indexes of these. For example, searching the decorative pillows category and items by designer Jonathan Adler results in four choices of his Tonal Squares decorative pillow line, with prices ranging between $57 and $105.

There is also a Sale Alert function for maximum interactive, up-to-the-minute shopping.

"Women are quite focused and determined when they shop. They know what they want and we created a place to give them just that," said Glimpse.com founder and CEO Frank Han.

The company said it is backed by the venture capital firms Greylock Partners, which also funds such Internet sites as Facebook and Digg; and Redpoint Ventures, which has funded telecommunications and interactive companies such as Tivo and Ask.com.
