New York — The Jelly Belly Candy Company, known for its popular jelly bean candies favored by the late President Ronald Reagan, has launched a licensing program to grow its brand and sweeten sales. The candy company signed a number of licensing agreements in a range of product categories across the apparel, stationery, toy, food and home markets.
Among the new “mouth watering” agreements is a Jelly Belly stationery license to Jakks Pacific, a leading manufacturer of toys and children’s products. Jakks is rolling out a broad assortment of stationery items in spring 2007, which will include die-cut notebooks, portfolios, pens and pencils, as well as a variety of scented products, such as stickers and a scratch-n-sniff sticker book and stationery set.
Other licensing agreements include product launches from Senario for colorful novelty pillows, a line of infant board books from Penguin, and from Shonfeld’s, food and beverage gift sets, which will include cocktail mixers in Jelly Belly jelly bean-shaped bottles, dessert syrups and smoothie mixes utilizing what the company says is "Jelly Belly jelly bean’s original and true-to-life flavors." More brand-building partners will be announced shortly.
