UPDATE: NYIGF Presents Awards for Accent on Design, ExTracts, Textiles, Blogger's Choice

New York – George Little Management honored exhibitors in several divisions during the August edition of the New York Intl. Gift Fair, running through August 20 at the Javits Center. 

In the juried Accent on Design division, Desu Design, Brooklyn, NY, was honored for Excellence in Product Design for its Pendulum Door Knocker, as was Design House Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden, for Family Chairs. Also Brooklyn-based neo-utility, a new distributor making its debut at this show, was honored for Best Overall Collection. 

Also in Accent on Design, Bloggers' Choice Award winners were honored. Each blogger picked one product from the division. Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan of Apartment Therapy selected Ceramic speakers by Joey Roth. Ami Kealoha & Tim Yu of Coolhunting chose Aqua Infant by esque studio. Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic picked Candle Cube and Bird Feeder Chocolate Box by Vanishing Creatures Chocolates, as did Jasmin Malik Chua of Treehugger. Stephanie Murg of Unbeige highlighted Boskke Sky Planter by neo-utility.

In the ExTracts division, the Botanika Collection of candles, diffusers, parfum, bath and body products from Dayna Decker, Los Angeles, was awarded Best of Show. Earthworks Products, Tustin, CA, won in the Bath & Body category for its Earthworks Soap Wrapper, eco-friendly hand-cut papers. Finalists included Flora Napa Valley, Napa, CA and Seda France Candles, Austin, TX. In Beauty Accessories, Warren Tricomi Haircare, Ronkonkoma, NY, won for its Green Walnut Masque repair treatment for hair. Finalists were Dayna Decker and Aglow A Soy Candle Company, Canoga Park, CA. In Cosmetics & Fragrance, Fragonard Parfumeur, Grasse, France, won for its Cette Nuit La, an oriental fragrance in organic pouch. Finalists include Floris London, London, England, and Fruits & Passion, Candiac, Quebec, Canada. In the Natural/Organic category, Compagne de Provence, San Diego, CA, won for its Ylang Noir Dry Oil moisturizing oil for body. Finalists included Dayna Decker again, as well as Soy Delicious, Miami, FL. And finally in the Packaging category, Tatine, Chicago, won for its Garden & Forest Infusions handmade candles in glass. Finalists included Earthworks Products and Berjang USA Inc, Rancho Domingues, CA. Caroline Kennedy, editor in chief of Gifts & Decorative Accessories, served as one of the judges.

In the Best New Product Awards competition at Home Textiles Market Week, the Green Bamboo Outdoor Pillow from V Rugs & Home, Miami, FL, was awarded Best of Market. The Market includes products exhibited at 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 W 34th Street as well as at the Fair. In the Bed category, Plover Organic, Portland, OR, won for its organic handmade Cartouche Quilt. Finalists include Traditions, Claverak, NY and Papillon Linens & Dreamfit, Las Vegas. In the Bath category, Libeco Lagae, New York, won for its Alexa Kimono made of 100 percent Belgian linen. Finalists included Espalma-Cobra, New York, and Sin In Linen, Seattle, WA. In the Dining category, Lintex, New York won for its Golden Jubilee tablecloth and napkin. Finalists include Culturally Chic, Miami, FL and Settings by Mona, Las Vegas. In the home accessories category, Dash & Albert, Pittsfield, MA, won for its Zipper Rug. Finalists include V.P. Designs, New Rochelle, NY and Scents and Feel, Miami, FL.
