New York The Gold Award winners of Gifts & Decorative Accessories' 58th annual Retailer Excellence Awards were revealed at the Retailer Excellence Awards gala last night. The event was held at New York's Marriott Marquis in Times Square where representatives from all aspects of the gift industry gathered to applaud all the finalists, winners and other honorees.

Taking Retailer Excellence Award top honors are:
Gift Store Design (large scale): The Store at the Museum of Arts & Design, New York
Gift Store Design (small scale): Elizabeth Allen Atelier, La Jolla, CA
Marketing Achievement: The Scarlet Tassel, Atlanta, GA
Community Service Events: Homeward Bound, New Milford, CT

Retailers were not the only ones to be honored. The Outstanding Manufacturers' Rep Award went to Cheri Leos of Onecoast. The Outstanding Manufacturers' Rep finalists were chosen based on nominations by retailers who outlined the contributions that these hard-working salespeople make to benefit their businesses. And Under Stella's Umbrella and its CEO Stella Martin received recognition as the Industry Rising Star, an award presented to companies in business three years or less.

Gifts & Decorative Accessories then turned the evening over to Gift for Life, the gift, stationery and home industries charitable arm for a very special presentation. Jenny Hammons, chairperson of the Gift for Life board, and Peter Schauben, founder of Gift for Life, presented the Gift for Life Industry Achievement Award to Bobbie Gottlieb of Two's Company for her 40 years of contribution to the industry.
