DMC Lighting Market Features More Vendors

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 4/23/2007 8:09:00 PM

Dallas — Buyers attending the June Lighting & Accessories Market at the Dallas Market Center (DMC) and International Home of Lighting can expect to find even more showrooms and products than they did during January's grand opening of the the 500,000-square-foot lighting expansion.

“June offers lighting buyers even more important reasons to come to market,” said Bill Winsor, DMC president and CEO. “The product depth and diversity, the market inspiration and excitement will reach new heights.”

The market, set for June 21–25, will feature more than 5,000 new product introductions inside the showrooms of more than 262 manufacturers — the most ever seen in Dallas, noted Winsor. New showrooms to Dallas include Jubilee, located in 3862 of the Trade Mart, and Arredo Luce, located in 305-9 of the World Trade Center.

In addition to new resources, many lighting exhibitors will offer a “Quick Ship” New Product Dating Program. Participating manufacturers will ship new introductions to retailers as quickly as possible after the June market, and many will offer a special new product dating program deferring payment until January 1, 2008. More than 30 manufacturers are participating in this program.

The market will include a full schedule of events, including an opening party at the Dallas Trade Mart, and the first Dallas Market Center Lighting Golf Classic, on June 20 at the Las Colinas Country Club. Additional information about the Classic is available from Helen Smith at hsmith@dmcmail.com.

A Retail Sales Training Program will take place on Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22 featuring guest speaker Kim Ward. Additional information about the program is available from Lindsey Villarrea at lvillarrea@dmcmail.com..

The DMC 50th Anniversary all-buyer market party will take place on Friday, June 22 in the Grand Pavilion of the Trade Mart, as well as in the World Trade Center Hall of Nations and the IFGC. Irish designer Clodagh, will present “Total Design” at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 23 in the World Trade Center’s Hall of Nations. Clodagh was among the first designers to use Feng Shui principles in her designs.

The Lighting & Accessories Market is part of Dallas’ June Super Market, which presents multiple markets simultaneously so that buyers may select from a wide range of product categories. Markets include the International Gift & Home Accessories Market, Furniture Market (June 20–26), Holiday and Home Expo (June 20–26, temps June 21–25), International Lighting & Accessories Market (June 21–25), National Gourmet Food Show (June 22–25) and the new F!NDS Temp Show (June 22–25). The Super Market offers more than 25,000 lines of gift products, decorative accessories, lighting, floral, gourmet, furniture, toys, seasonal items and more.
