International Markets Runup: Upcoming European Shows

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 1/30/2008 3:08:00 PM

Spring Fair to Advance Global Market Positioning
Birmingham, England — Spring Fair Birmingham, to be held at the National Exhibition Center (NEC) February 3–7, will launch Export, a new product trail that will highlight on www.springfair.com all show exhibitors that export or are looking to export. Export will also help to provide these exhibitors with the logistical and commercial tools needed to facilitate their export business.

Whether companies are experienced in international trade, or just starting out, Spring Fair will offer advice on international sourcing and import-export opportunities. UK Trade and Investment, BJGF Exports and the International Trade Promotion Centre have joined forces to offer import and export advice to any exhibitor wishing to know more, as well as to those looking to pitch their businesses to international visitors. The meetings, supported by the International Trade Promotion Centre based at the Birmingham NEC, will promote trade between UK companies and the wider global retail community. They will allow exhibitors to access groups of buyers from Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the U.S. In addition, to provide an insight into how business works other countries, UKTI will offer the opportunity to meet with British Embassy officers from those countries. To qualify for meetings with international buyers, British Embassy officers or ITAs, visitors or exhibitors must register at BJGF stand in Hall 6 or online at www.Meetbuyers-springfair08.com

Also attending the show from February 6–7 in the Concourse Suites, HM Revenue & Customs Trade and Excise offers guidance on importing to or exporting from the UK as part of the Government Business Advice Zone.

Frankfurt to Hold Decorate Life in July
Frankfurt, Germany — Decorate Life, an event embracing everything to do with the home and furnishing, will be held July 4–8 at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. Under the umbrella name of Decorate Life, Messe Frankfurt brought several of its fairs for greater crossover buying impact — Tendence Autumn + Winter, Collectione Preview Spring + Summer, and The Design Annual. Newly introduced segments are Young Living, presenting youthful furniture exhibits to reinforce the position of the furniture category in Frankfurt, and Outdoor Living, with a focus on garden furniture to enhance the expanding segment of products for the terrace, balcony and garden.
