Christmasworld is for More Than Christmas in Frankfurt
Frankfurt, Germany — Messe Frankfurt will host Christmasworld, an international trade show of event decoration, at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center in Germany from January 30–February 3, 2009. The event will be located in Hall 8, both levels of the Galleria and all four floors of Hall 9. The show runs concurrent with Paperworld, a fair for stationery, papergoods, and office products and Beautyworld, a show for the hairdressing industry.
While Christmas holiday decorating represents a major focus of the show, Christmasworld presents products for all celebrations year-round including, New Year, St. Valentine's Day, Easter, birthday parties and weddings, as well. There will also be exhibits showcasing the trends for the 2009/2010 seasons and displays from German vendors, as well as a wide range of international participants.
A highlight of the show is the annual program, “The Spirit of Celebration.” Each year a different country is invited to present a look at its national festivals. At the 2009 event, the United States is the guest presenter and will spotlight Halloween and Valentine’s Day decorating customs and celebration in the U.S..
Another highlight will be “La Mostra Celeste” a display of six, large, museum-quality Nativities representing Italian landscapes of different eras from 18th century to modern times. Sure to be traffic-stoppers, they exemplify how Nativity scenes can draw traffic to a shop.
The Trend Show section is key for visitors wishing to stay ahead of the curve and know what the forecast is in regard to colors, shapes and materials. Vignettes of coordinated collections are created using products drawn from exhibitors at the show.

Cologne Presents Furnishings and Furnishings Trends
Cologne, Germany — IMM Cologne, an international trade fair for furniture and home furnishings, is set for January 19–25, 2009, at the Cologne Exhibition Center in Germany. The show is a comprehensive resource for interior trends and style ideas, as well as product sourcing from vendors from all over the globe. More than 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries will showcase their offerings to an anticipated nearly 110,000 visitors.
One of the key elements of the fair is a showcase of interior design trends as foreseen by the Trendboard, an international panel of renowned designers. The four trends will be presented in lavish displays or “scenographies” that will give visitors an idea as to styles, colors and design elements that will be key to home interior design directions. The four trends that will be featured are: Extra Much, Near and Far, Tepee Culture and Re-Run Time.
IMM Cologne is a fair that showcases everything from case goods and upholstered furniture, to flat pack and ready-to-assemble goods, decorative accessories, textiles and lighting. The RTA/cash-and-carry furniture category is one of the fastest growing areas. Its popularity with the younger, more mobile consumer demands a broader range of stylish design and colors. This category will be in Halls 7 and 8 under the label “imm smart.”
Of the more forward looking areas of the show, one section highlights up-and-coming talents and young entrepreneurs; the other section, “imm pure” is a juried presentation of some 200 exhibitors showing visionary designs influenced by the integration of elements drawn from global sources.
