Made in America
While most vendors choose to produce overseas, there are still many companies that are manufacturing right here in the U.S.A.

There aren't too many vendors that still manufacture in America these days. Most companies produce overseas, saving the manufacturer — and the consumer — money in the end. But what is gained by saving costs, may be lost in other areas: control over quality, production or inventory. Still, plenty of companies choose to produce at home.
And there are many advantages to producing here. "The biggest factor is control. I have control of my quality which is number one. We also have a greater control over our inventory, because we have done business in the U.S. for 16 years and only with U.S. companies for supplies such as boxes, print material or displays," explained Kaycee Binns, CEO of Metal Morphosis, Atlanta.
Producing here may not result in as high a return, but by manufacturing in America, vendors are creating more jobs for Americans and supporting the economy right here at home. "While we cannot boast the margins other companies can, we can proudly say we know what is in our material and stand behind it 100 percent. We would never sacrifice the life of a child for $1. I stayed true to my art and passion. I stayed in the U.S. even when it was really hard, but now it has come home to roost," said Binns.

But it's not enough that vendors are producing here, the product needs to be purchased and promoted by the retailer. Create special displays highlighting American-made products to pique interest. Romance the products by giving a little of the company background. Educate customers about the value of supporting products made here. While some prices may be just a little bit higher, point out to shoppers that the extra they pay ultimately benefits them by helping to build our economy.
Below are 11 vendors who manufacture here in the U.S. (And you — and your customers — will be surprised at some of the prices!)
