Paperworld to Present Stationery Trends and Tips
Frankfurt, Germany — Paperworld, an international trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationery, is set to take place January 23–27, 2008, at the Frankfurt Fairgrounds in Frankfurt, Germany. Produced by Messe Frankfurt, the fair will highlight new ideas and current trends in paper goods and related products, as well as offering tips for decorating product presentations. In addition to being able to view new products in vendors’ stands and in targeted trend displays, market-goers may attend informational workshops, awards ceremonies and exhibitions.

Included in the special trend areas are:
• Paperworld Trend Show, in Hall 6.1, where style studio bora.herke from Frankfurt/Berlin will show the colors, shapes and materials likely to be "in" during the coming season. There will be daily guided tours of the Trend Show.
• Creative Trends – Creativity meets design, in Hall 4.2, demonstrates in an interactive way how avant-garde design, the latest trends and a variety of creative techniques can be combined, and how to interest new target groups in crafting.
• New Products Show, in the entrance area of Hall 4.2, presents the in the creative sector.
• Greetings cards and how to present them is a new special show in the Foyer of Hall 5.1/6.1, providing practical information and tips for compiling optimum assortments of greetings cards in retail shops.
• Card Trend Shop focuses on flexible product display that enables dealers to present products of different forms in a varied and thematically interesting way.

UK’s Spring Fair Offers a Look at Key Retail Directions
Birmingham, U.K. — To provide North American buyers with a competitive edge, Spring Fair, February 3–7, 2008, at the National Exhibition Centre, will feature a brand new Future Trends Stage offering a firsthand look at breaking trends. Developed in partnership with Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), the Future Trends Stage will also present attendees with a number of future-focused, trend-driven seminar programs that will provide a look at key color an interior style directions for 2008–09.

Among the program highlights:
• Keynote presentation by Mary Portas (a.k.a. “Mary Queen of Shops”), one of the UK’s foremost authorities on retail and brand communications
• Consumer Demographic trends from Research International
• Store Design presentation from retail consultants Fitch
Design Influences discussion from Sebastian Conran

Additional offerings include seminars on inspirational color, design and consumer trend influences, as well as case studies from leading retailers sharing insights and experience on customer service, multi-channel retailing, developing online retail, eco-sustainable retailing and much more. 

The Future Trends Stage is located within Spring Fair's Living Zone (Halls 9–11), which includes Home Gift & Interiors and Garden Living sections, as well as Kitchen and Dining, The Summerhouse and Gallery. Spring Fair Birmingham, produced by Emap/TPS, will feature more than 4,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries, including the largest showcase of British-designed merchandise in the world.

Frankfurtto Launch Design Life 
Frankfurt, Germany — Under the umbrella title of Decorate Life, MesseFrankfurt has created a new fair, scheduled to be held July 4–8, 2008, at the Frankfurt Fairgrounds, by grouping together three already existing shows: Tendence Autumn + Winter, Collectione Preview Spring + Summer and The Design Annual. Decorate Life will feature a wide range of product for the home (from furniture to gifts), but each segment is targeted to a specific buying audience. Tendence, previously held in August, moves to July to accommodate the new buying cycle, especially for Christmas; Collectione, primarily for volume buyers, launches product for the following year; and Design Annual, held in the Festhalle, is a juried event of high end designer products, and closes on July 7, a day earlier than the other sections.
