Lenox to Focus on Core Brands

Eden Prairie , MN —Lenox Group Inc. announced plans to focus on its existing core brands — Department 56, Lenox, Dansk and Gorham — in order to build equity and ensure future growth. To that end, Tickle, a new brand of luxurious lifestyle and fashion accessories, which Department 56 launched in January of 2006, will be discontinued.
“The acquisition of Lenox has given us the opportunity to leverage strong brands across all channels of distribution. Development and expansion of new products will be limited to our core brands and celebrate family and friends with home entertaining and decorating products,” said Susan Engel, chairwoman and CEO of Lenox Group Inc.
“Efforts to build a new brand, Tickle, for Department 56 will no longer be pursued,” added Engel. “The strength of Lenox, Dansk and Gorham positions us to take into these brands some of the Tickle initiatives.”
