Celebrities to Appear at Atlanta Spring Gift Market
Atlanta — The Atlanta Spring Gift, Home Furnishings & Holiday and Atlanta International Fine Linen & Home Textiles Markets running March 8–10 at AmericasMart Atlanta will be highlighted by the guest appearances of actress Jane Seymour and designer Kathryn M. Ireland. Seymour and Ireland will individually present their own unique design and decor inspirations and methods, and industry trends. The presentations will be held in AmericasMart 1, floor 10.

On Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m., Seymour, in her new role as home designer, will offer an intimate look into her life through interior photography of her Malibu, CA, home. Complimentary copies of her new book, Making Yourself at Home, will be available to retailers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ireland, renowned for her style and favored by Hollywood clients for her eclectic, comfortable style, will make a presentation at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. Globalshop Programs Offer Retail Design Trends, Insights
Alpharetta, Ga — GlobalShop 2008, the annual retail design and in-store marketing show, will take place March 18–20 at McCormick Place West in Chicago. This year, GlobalShop is offering a 32-session conference program in addition to the exhibits by more than 900 participants showcasing their products and service. Conference program topics will address such issues as going Green, digital signage and a new industry metric that promises to change the face of retailing.

New York Gift Cash And Carry Show Offers Immediate Inventory

Atlanta Apparel Market Offers Fresh Resources
Atlanta — The Atlanta Apparel Market, April 5-8, will offer fresh resources on all 13 floors of AmericasMart Atlanta Building 3, where the temporaries continue to grow and expand product categories. Exhibitor debuts, along with permanent showroom movement, are helping to drive growth and retailer traffic.

In addition to its growing contemporary men’s product offering, which will have a predominant presence this market, Premiere will now include an Eco-friendly component, showcasing environmentally friendly and “green” apparel and accessories. The Accessories floor will also unveil a Spa/Body&Soul category featuring personal care products similar to those of established exhibitors such as Foot Petals and Hollywood Fashion Tape.

AmericasMart’s Children’s World also continues to grow with the addition of new permanent exhibitor Carolina Baby Company, while Children’s World will also unveil the Kids’ Co-Ops on the 13th floor, showcasing seven new high-end contemporary children’s showrooms in a loft-like gallery. BGS Features New Exhibitors, Highlights PONE Retailers
White Plains, NY — The Boston Gift Show (BGS), returning to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) April 5-8, will present nearly 40 new companies among its 500 total exhibitors, including Bearington Baby Collection, Gap Creek Candle Company, Jane Marvel, Green PieceWire Art and Vintage Decor.

One of the features of the spring event is the Pride of New England Awards, which celebrate exceptional business practices and demonstration of New England pride by retailers. Seven retailers – each exemplifying outstanding customer service, creative merchandising and dedication to their community – have been named finalists for the 2008 Pride of New England Awards: Chatham T Company, Chatham, MA; Cottage Designs, Ocean Park, ME; Domaine Gallery, Portland, ME; Massachusetts Bay Trading Company, Weston, MA; Social Expressions, Providence, RI; Southern New Hampshire Medical Center Auxiliary Gift Shop, Nashua, NH; and The Tea Leaf, Waltham, MA.

Four winners from among the finalists will be named during the Pride of New England Awards Reception at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 5. A special display on the show floor will profile the winners.

In addition, a special “Hole-in-One” putting contenst will offer BGS attendees the opportunity to contribute toward Boston’s fight against cancer and earn spending dollars toward orders placed at the show. For every hole-in-one, the Boston Gift Show will award $100 to the lucky putter, and donate $50 toward cancer research and care in the greater Boston area.
 
“This contest serves as a way to encourage spending on the show floor, while supporting a cause that is near and dear to the greater Boston community,” said Tony Orlando, show manager. “Golf is a popular New England pastime, and the perfect activity to complement the resort and souvenir products on the Show floor.”
