The four students include Isis Delomez, Brooke Lichtenstein, Whitney Vlasaty and Ioannis Vrousgos. The design involves a “cradle to cradle” concept that repurposes used materials to give new life to used objects. The students worked with mentor Michael Travano, custom window treatment and upholstered furniture designer; their faculty advisor is Rene Estacio. The event it is open to the public from March 18–22 at Pier 94 in New York City.
NYSID will also display 30 student designs and models from the BFA and MFA furniture design studios. The students’ work will be set up adjacent to the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Tickets are $25 and include admission to both shows.
