Urban Outfitters to Launch Home Brand

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 5/24/2007 10:51:00 AM

Philadelphia — Urban Outfitters Inc., owners of the Anthropologie, Free People and Urban Outfitters lifestyle retail brands, plans to launch an as-yet-unnamed fourth brand early next year. Richard A. Hayne, the company’s chairman and president, said the home concept would be "inspired by the 'greenhouse'. Sites will be large and free standing. Merchandise will include lifestyle home and garden products combined with antiques, live plants and flowers."

The company also promoted Glen Senk to the newly created position of CEO. Sank joined the company in 1994 as president of the then single store Anthropologie. He assumed responsibility for the Free People brand in 2003 and was elected to the board of directors in 2004.
