CIB Honors Winners of Collectors' Choice Awards

Grundy, IA. – The Collectors' Information Bureau, a trade organization for limited edition collectible manufacturers, honored 2009 Collectors’ Choice Award recipients in 11 categories, including this year's two new divisions, Halloween and Prints/Original Art. Finalists were selected by a panel of industry judges including Caroline Kennedy, editor-in-chief of Gifts & Decorative Accessories. Winners were determined by a public vote.

In Dolls/Plush, Gund won first place for Treasured Teddies "Gregory"; Bearington Collection took second with "Polly & Prancer". For Figurines/Sculptures (Under $100), Beasties of the Kingdom Inc. came in first for "Felipe's Flamingo Family”; Roman Inc. came in second for "Kneeling Santa with Christ Child". In the Figurines/Sculptures (Over $100) category, first place went to Prizm Inc./Pipka, "Cold North Santa"; second place went to Swarovski, Rare Encounters "Giraffe". In the new Halloween category, Wee Forest Folk Inc. received top marks for "Dragon Dress-Up"; Enesco LLC’s Jim Shore Collection’s "Wicked" was the runner up. In Holiday Items, Goebel North America, M.I. Hummel, "Winter Friend" was first and Precious Moments Inc.’s, "Filled with Wonder & Joy On This Special Night", second. Precious Moments Inc. also came in first in the Home Decor/Gift (Under $50) category for its Words of Grace "Make The Most of Today, With Hope for Tomorrow", followed by Department 56 Inc.’s, Just The Right Shoe "What A Pair!" In Home Decor/Gift (Over $50), Crystal World won with "Heceta Head Lighthouse”; The ChemArt Company came in second with "A Christmas Carol Story Time Globe".

In Luxury Items, Swarovski’s Crystal Paradise "Bee-eaters, Peridot" took top prize, with Waterford Crystal’s "Lismore Jewels Amethyst" coming in second. In Ornaments (Under $50), Enesco took another prize for its Circle of Love "Nativity Circle Plaque", while Hallmark Cards Keepsake Ornaments "Home for Christmas" came in second. In Ornaments (Over $50) Waterford Crystal took another prize for "2008 Snow Crystals", and Wee Forest Folk returned in second with "Aerial Elf". And in the new category of Prints/Original Art, Mill Pond Press won first for ClasArt "Frosty Morning – Bluejay”, while Wild Wings "Slip and Slide – Black Bears" took second prize.
