Gift Sales Managers Form Association

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 6/2/2003 10:05:00 AM

June 2, 2003 — A group of gift industry sales managers met in Las Vegas last month to form the Gift Sales Manager Association (GSMA), and to elect officers. Tim Cushman, national sales manager, Buffalo Jewelry and Gifts, was elected president; Ann McKay, sales manager, key accounts and CBA market, Joan Baker, was elected vice president; Lynn Perez, vice president of sales, Blue Cross Beauty Products, secretary; Stuart Miller, vice president of sales, Goodwin Weavers, treasurer; and Tara Moynihan, national sales manager, Mary Meyer Corp., Sargeant at Arms. “While a variety of gift industry associations exist to serve retailers and sales reps, there has never truly been an organization targeting the specialized needs of sales managers, until now,” said Cushman. “By bringing together sales executives from non-competing companies we can discuss all aspects of the sales manager’s job.” The initial goals of the organization are for members to share ideas on increasing sales; motivating sales reps, principals, and showroom managers; targeting key accounts, and others. Annual membership dues are $100. GSMA will hold biannual meetings alternating between East and West Coast locations. Dates and location for the fall meeting will be announced soon. For more info, contact Tim Cushman at (800) 757-7442.
