What's coming up in 2010? Here are ten looks to look out for next year.
Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 12/1/2009 12:00:00 AM
In the November issue, Gifts & Decorative Accessories spoke to five industry experts — Paul Thompson, vice president creative, One Coast; Michelle Lamb, founder & chairman, Marketing Directions Inc. and editorial director, The Trend Curve; Jorge Perez, PR director and national spokesperson Waterford, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton; Rick Janecek, head designer, Global Views and Mary Carol Garrity, retailer, Nell Hill's and Garrity's — about what trends they saw emerging in 2010.
When it came to color, orange and coral tones topped the list, as did gray tones, blues, and black and white combinations. Natural woods, with hints of gray are taking over from the darker, more formal wood tones.
Luxe for less is another trend coming up next year. Everybody wants a luxurious look in their home without having to pay luxurious prices. Taking from that cue, people will be entertaining more at home, and more casually. Here, G&DA presents 10 upcoming trends for 2010.
