Port Washington, NY - Safavieh is opening a second permanent showroom at Atlanta's AmericasMart to showcase its growing line of home furnishings and accent pieces.
Located in Building 1's space 5-C-1, the 3,000-squre-foot showroom will highlight a sampling of the company's accent furniture, lighting and decorative pillows, and will display newly introduced product categories including wall art, mirrors, barware, garden stools and outdoor furniture.
"The timing of AmericasMart's integration of lifestyle home furnishings with area rugs in Building 1 is right in line with our own strategic marketing goals. Retail needs are changing, and buyers are now responsible for multiple product categories. We have become a cross-category manufacturer to meet the needs of our customers and our showroom space will reflect that," noted Cyrus Yaraghi, principal.
Safavieh's new space is directly across the aisle from the company's current 13,000 square-foot showroom, in space 5-A-2, for hand-knotted, hand-tufted and machine made rugs as well as six high-end Safavieh Couture licensed designer rug collections.
In other news, Safavieh will also launch in Atlanta a comprehensive program of cross-category cowhide rugs, accent furniture, decorative pillows and lamps.
"Targeting growing demand from designer showrooms to big box stores," the company explained, the multi-tiered program includes faux cowhide rugs in addition to top quality Brazilian and Argentinean hides.
"It is a trickle- down effect: consumers see beautiful cowhide rugs in designer show houses and decorating magazines and they want to recreate the look in their own homes," said Yaraghi. "Demand is growing as rustic style and natural roughhewn wood furniture gain in popularity."
Safavieh will introduce hair-on-hide cowhide rugs from Argentina run from $13 to $26 per square foot, depending on color and quality. The collection includes eight brindles and natural shades and hides stenciled with zebra and tiger markings.
