ARLINGTON, Va.—The Sandbox Summit, a conference and exhibition focused on children and technology that debut at the 2008 International CES, will return to the consumer electronics tradeshow this January under a new name, Kids@Play.
Kids@Play: Building a Smarter Tomorrow, scheduled for Jan. 9, 2009, will bring together educators, toy manufacturers, consumer electronics companies, policymakers, service industries and media to discuss how technology is changing the way kids and their families play, learn and connect. Participating companies include Elf Island, Electronic Arts, Huru Humi (Senario), KidZui, Mattel, PBS Kids Play and Symantec. A complete list of sponsors can be found at www.kidsatplaysummit.com.
“After watching the [consumer electronics] and toy industries grow up side by side, I’m convinced that CES is the crucial place where the two intersect to create a new generation of products and services that are innovative, inspiring and safe,” said Robin Raskin, founder of Kids@Play Summit.
The 2009 International CES will be held Jan. 8–11, 2009, in Las Vegas.
