Have game, will go
Anytime, anywhere is how you can play one of the six indoor and outdoor games inside the Games to Go set from Alex, Northvale, N.J. The 96-piece set is enough for 2-4 players and includes games like backgammon, snakes and ladders, checkers, chinese checkers, mancala and tic tac toe. The Games to Go package retails for $34.95 and is recommended for ages 5 and up. Need a place to store toys on the go? A Travel Toy Tote is also available from Alex for a retail price of $19.95. 

     


Pack it up
Hand-knitted backpacks from Blabla, Atlanta,can fit lots of the toys and goodies needed by kids on the go. All bags are 100 percent cotton, lined on the inside and have a zip closure. The back packs, all hand-made inPeru, come in koala, horse, frog, monkey, grey cat, orange cat, dog (Dalmatian), butterfly and more. Each bag retails for $39.

Travel Bingo from Eeboo, New York, lets players play bingo in an entirely different way—by looking out the window of the car or bus or train or plane or...Players spot trees, gas stations, cars and more on the road then cross it out on the game sheet until they fill any horizontal or vertical line across. Each paper pad comes with 20 play pages each, four colored pencils and an easy-to-store, slide-draw box so the game stays intact.

Say what?
If you had $100 to give away who would you give it to and why? What is your favorite family activity? Seattle-based Moonjar brings the fun of conversation back to game play. In Conversations to Go, players pick a fortune cookie-like game piece out of the box and begin the conversation. All boxes retail for $12.95 and are recommended for ages 6 and older. Money- and travel-themed versions are also available.
     

Ryhming time
Rhyme Thyme from Outset Media, British Columbia, has a new matching game for preschoolers. Players can find a rhyme in another player's hand and be the first to call out the match to win. Players make matches either by looking at the illustrations or by reading the words. The game is recommended for beginning or pre-readers. The game helps develop hand-eye coordination, word recognition and reading vocabulary and is recommended for two to five players. SRP is $9.99.
