DEVENS, Mass.—Specialty toy retailer Learning Express said today that it plans to open to 17 to 20 new toy store franchises in 2010.
Exact locations have yet to be decided, the retailer said, and the company is actively seeking additional applicants.
The plan follows a 2009 that saw Learning Express open 14 new locations and 12 temporary “pop-up” stores for the holiday season, five of which remain open with short-term leases. They helped the company record sales growth compared to 2008, specifics of which were not announced.
Among the company’s other achievements from 2009 were 14 exclusive educational toys available only at Learning Express during the holiday season, and the introduction of company-wide blogging and social networking.
Currently, there are approximately 140 Learning Express stores nationwide.
We would love your feedback!
