Brilliant Sky spreads in South

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 2/25/2010 4:40:00 PM

OKEMOS, Mich.—Specialty toy store franchisor TT&B announced today that it has finalized agreements for new Brilliant Sky Toys & Books stores to open in Wilmington, N.C., and the Nashville, Tenn., area.

"The Wilmington area represents a unique opportunity for Brilliant Sky to serve both a thriving community and a significant tourist base” said Brent Taylor, Founder and CEO of TT&B Inc. “We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with a franchisee who brings a wealth of experience in serving a community with an active tourist industry.” The store is slated to open this summer.

In the Nashville area, TT&B has inked a deal that will see Williamson County, Tenn., become home to the first of seven new locations across Tennessee, Kentucky and northern Alabama. The Nashville store will open this summer.

"Williamson County, Tennessee is one of the nation’s strongest demographic markets and it’s an area that has been on our radar for some time—this is a tremendous opportunity for our brand,” Taylor said.

TT&B. began franchising under the Brilliant Sky name in January 2007. It currently has nine stores up and running in six states. Discussions are underway in several key markets throughout the U.S., according to the company, with additional deals anticipated in 2010.

Kids products that combine high play value and a design sensibility that blends with mom and dad's house are sure winners for specialty shops, who can market themselves as an alternative to cheap plastic imports and their problematic safety records.
