Please include the name of the feature story you are submitting product for in the subject line of the email.

Please note: While we try to include as many products as possible, we cannot guarantee any submitted product will be included in our final report due to space constraints and/or the focus of a story being outside of that of your product.

* For our FEBRUARY 2010 TOY FAIR issue, please submit product information (as either Microsoft Word, text or PDF files) and high resolution images (see below for image specs) to us at toyfairitems@reedbusiness.com . Please include 'TOY FAIR ISSUE SUBMISSION' in the subject line of your email. The deadline for this issue is December 15, 2009

DEADLINES
The editorial submission deadline for all issues of Playthings, except for the February Toy Fair issue, is the 1st of the month prior to the issue's release. (Example: April 1 for the May issue.) The deadline for the Feburary 2010 Toy Fair issue is December 15, 2009.

DEPARTMENTS
Playthings' monthly department pages (i.e. 'Upfront' pages) include coverage of toy industry trends and exclusive interviews with particularly timely/newsworthy companies and individuals spanning the children's entertainment businesses. In addition, we run ongoing product coverage of niche areas of the market on an ongoing basis, including children's books and multimedia (CDs, DVDs and kid-friendly or license-based video games.

We are also interested in story ideas in areas such as:

• Retailing/merchandising success stories ('Upfront: Retail')
• Opinion pieces from industry members on important issues ('Upfront: At Issue')
• 'How to' stories designed to improve any area of the toy business ('Upfront: Tips For the Trade')
• Licensing and new properties of note. ('Upfront: Licensing')

If you have a story idea, or if you are a toy, hobby or children's entertainment industry professional who would like to contribute a bylined article to our magazine, contact Cliff Annicelli (cannicelli@reedbusiness.com), Playthings' editor-in-chief, to discuss your idea.

IMAGE SPECS:
Resolution:
300 dpi or above
File format: .jpg, .tif, or .eps (preferably formatted for PC)
Dimensions: 4 inches x 4 inches or greater
Preferences: 'Beauty' shots of product out of its packaging; without children in the photo; and preferably taken against a WHITE background. None of these aesthetic preferences are mandatory, but meeting them significantly increases the chance we would use your product image in print.
