BURBANK, Calif.—Warner Bros. Consumer Products has promoted Bruno Schwobthaler to senior vice president of sales and business development for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Schwobthaler will oversee the marketing, sales and retail plans for the region in selected properties, as well as manage new business initiatives and implementation.

"In his 10 years with the company, Bruno has been a driving force behind our steady European growth," says Pilar Zulueta, senior vice president and general manager for WBCP in the region, to whom Schwobthaler will continue to report. "His leadership and experience has have produced incredible results, and we are pleased to see him grow and flourish."

Adds Jordan Sollitto, executive vice president of new initiatives and international licensing, "Bruno’s strategic vision for our European business has helped his team pursue many new and innovative initiatives, including UEFA and other football licensing."

Schwobthaler had served as vice president of sales and business development for the region, where he developed WBCP’s football licensing business with UEFA Euro 2004, since 2002. Prior to that, he served as vice president in northern Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Benelux). Schwobthaler began his WBCP career in 1997 as a general manager by forming the German office in Hamburg.

Previously, Schwobthaler was European regional marketing director for toys at Hasbro, and head of Hasbro's marketing division in Germany.
