This week Playthings.com features new products from Publications International, Joyride Studios, Senario, Patch Products, Wibbles and M.O.G. Kids.

  &Publications International,Lincolnwood,Ill., has a Cash Register book which is a combination of a working cash register and soundbook. It features a real bar-code scanner and mechanical cash drawer. With a suggested retail price of about $22, each 12-page Cash Register book follows the shopping excursion of a well-known licensed character who prompts kids to select and purchase items along the way. Using a tethered touch scanner that works by reading bar codes printed in conductive ink, kids check out items while the cash register tallies their purchases and displays the totals on the LCD calculator. Kids can also manually input and add amounts with the cash register’s 10-digit keypad. Each book is accompanied by a play credit card that kids can swipe through a slot on the cash register, which beeps to indicate the card has been accepted. A built-in mechanical cash drawer filled with play dollars and coins opens and closes just like the real thing

& Senario LLC, Woodstock,Ill., has some new multi-player video games it will be introducing in 2005. Big Bonus Slots features a wireless controller with a realistic slot machine lever and lights. Players can choose from five different slot machines and try to hit the jackpot. Big Bonus Slots also includes 25 interactive bonus challenges to keep players engaged. The game stores lifetime earnings for up to six players. Suggested retail price for Big Bonus Slots is $49.99.
   

Patch Products,Beloit,Wis., introduces Such & Such to its family game line.Such & Such is a game filled with pairings, just remember one thing while playing … The Answers to the Clues Come in Twos!

In Such & Such, teams will try to solve a set of five clues. All of the answers are things that go together. One team member reads five clues to his teammates.They will have 40 seconds to solve them.Teammates may pass but will not be allowed to come back to the clue.When time expires, the opposing team has the chance to steal any passed clues and any clues that were not answered before the time ran out.The first team to reach 25 points wins.Such & Such is for 4 or more players in teams, ages 10 and up.
