Peachtree recalls licensed utensil sets

Peachtree Playthings Tweety Untensil Set, on of three styles of kids March 3, 2010—Peachtree Playthings, Atlanta, is recalling approximately 127,000 sets of licensed children’s utensils because they pose a choking hazard.

The middle two prongs of the plastic forks sold in the company’s Scooby-Doo, Tweety (pictured) and Batman Fork and Spoon Sets can detach, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Peachtree Playthings has received one report of a middle prong detaching from the fork. No injuries have been reported.

The utensil sets were sold at Dollar Tree Stores and Deals in January 2010 for about $1 per set. They were made in China.

Consumers are asked to return the product to Dollar Tree or Deals for a full refund.
