Walmart unveils exclusive 'Dragon' toy line

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 2/16/2010 12:02:00 AM

BENTONVILLE, Ark.—Walmart said today that it has teamed with toymaker Spin Master and DreamWorks Animation for an exclusive toy line for the upcoming feature film How to Train Your Dragon.

The line will be available at Walmart stores starting on March 1 for a film that’s scheduled for release on March 26. It includes human and dragon figures, playsets and role-play toys ranging in price from $5 to $30.

“It was a year ago this month at Toy Fair when Walmart, Dreamworks Animation and Spin Master first came together to discuss the possibility of creating an exclusive line of toys around this film,” said Laura Phillips, Walmart’s US vice president of toys. “We are excited to bring the family adventure to life through play, and moms will be excited by the great quality and value that we are offering.”

How To Train Your Dragon is based on the book by Cressida Cowell. It tells the story of a Viking teenager who befriends a dragon.
