NEW YORK—Children’s entertainment development firm Fitz Roy Media has appointed toy business alumni Jonathan Breiter and Jennifer Zivic as the U.S. licensing agents for the company’s slate of children’s properties.
Breiter and Zivic will launch their representation of Fitz Roy’s newest kid franchises, including Funny Face, Heathcliff and Secret Wings, at next week’s 2009 Licensing International Expo.
Also on the team are publishing industry executive Jon Rosenberg, who will represent Fitz Roy’s slate of properties exclusively throughout the publishing industry; and veteran development executive Richard Oren, who will be the exclusive agent handling promotional opportunities.
“Breiter, Zivic, Rosenberg and Oren undoubtedly comprise a team of highly regarded industry leaders whose depth of experience and expertise in the kids business would be difficult to match. We are extremely proud of our new association and look forward to their sage guidance in maximizing the potential for our proprietary children’s brands,” said Fitz Roy Media CEO Hamp Hampton.
Breiter, who began his career in advertising as part of the team that won the “Burger Wars” with the award winning “Where’s the Beef” campaign for Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, joined Hasbro in the late ‘80s as associate VP of marketing for the toymaker’s infant and toddler business and later was promoted to Senior Vice President. He left Hasbro to start his own room décor company, Ohbaby!, securing the Sesame Street and Barney licenses, and subsequently sold the company to The Betesh Group, where he spent the next decade. He is currently a principal at New York-based Public Group.
Zivic began her career at Taratoy Corp.’s kid’s stationery division, where she served as Director of Marketing and Product Development. She later spent seven years with Mattel in various roles, including management of its Sesame Street and Barbie businesses. Zivic most recently served as HIT Entertainment’s director of licensing for soft Lines.
FitzRoy Media is a media property development company specializing in children’s entertainment created for new and emerging media platforms, including mobile, Internet and interactive broadcast television. The company’s flagship property is the comic strip Heathcliff, created in 1973 by cartoonist George Gately and now written by Gately’s nephew, Peter Gallagher. Its other key properties include Secret Wings, Funny Face and Out of My Mind, a new tween series that mixes live action and animation.
