Jakks jumps into Bella Sara toys

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 5/5/2009 8:39:00 AM

Jakks Pacific has joined the licensee list for Bella SaraLONDON—ITV Global Entertainment has granted Jakks Pacific wide-ranging toy rights to girl-targeted property Bella Sara in the U.S. and Canada.

The deal allows Jakks Pacific to market Bella Sara toys in categories such as feature plush toys, figurines, dolls, playsets, dress-up, kites and stationery to toy stores, mass market retailers, mail order companies and online outlets.

Created for children aged 5 to 13 years old, Bella Sara is an award-winning children’s entertainment property set in a magical world of horses. Originally launched in Denmark by creator Gitte Odder Braendgaard, Bella Sara inspires pro-social dialogue and thought with positive messages, with the objective of stimulating children’s imaginations through interactive play. In the U.S., the property is best known for its trading card game marketed since 2007 by Hidden City Games.

“We are excited to be working with the creative talents of Gitte Odder Braendgaard, Hidden City and ITV,” said Tom Delaney, Jakks’ senior vice president of marketing. “Bella Sara is a dynamic property which brings new excitement into the fashion doll category.”

This deal follows recently announced partnerships for the property with Italian toymaker Giochi Preziosi for pan-European distribution and Kidz Entertainment/EEMC in Nordic and Central/Eastern European (CEE) territories.
