Wonder Women nominations now open

NEW YORK—Nominations for the fifth annual Wonder Women of Toys Awards—presented by Women In Toys and Playthings magazine—are now being accepted.

To be eligible for a Wonder Women of Toys awards, a nominee must meet the following the criteria:

• Nominee must be female
• Nominee must be a member in good standing of Women in Toys
• Nominee must currently work within the toy industry (can be employed by a toy, licensing or entertainment company, including a manufacturer, manufacturers’ representative, retailer, licensor or as an independent consultant to the toy, licensing, entertainment or a related industry).
• Nominee must be nominated in one of 10 categories: Retailer, Manufacturer, Consultant, Licensor, Licensing Agent, Inventor/Designer, Entrepreneur, Women to Watch*, Green, In Memoriam

The deadline for nominations is Nov. 30, 3008.

Playthings will announce this year’s nominees online and in print in November. The winners will be announced at the Wonder Women of Toys awards dinner on Feb. 16, 2009, in New York City.

(* Women to Watch is a category that honors someone who new or up-and-coming who is having any impact on the industry or a specific market segment. Up to three winners may be chosen each year.)
