McFarlane readies 'Guitar Hero' action figures

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 6/27/2008 1:44:00 PM

Lars Umlaut from McFarlane ToysTEMPE, Ariz.—McFarlane Toys this week unveiled a line of action figures based on Activision’s hit video game franchise, Guitar Hero.

The first series of figures is expected to hit store shelves in November, in tandem with the next Guitar Hero video game release. It will include versions of the game’s most popular characters: Johnny Napalm, Lars Umlaut, Axel Steel and God of Rock.

Each 6-inch figure will have from 15 to 18 moving parts. A unique removable guitar is included with each character, and is interchangeable with the other figures. Each figure also comes with a sculpted Guitar Hero logo base. They will retail for $10 to $15.

The Guitar Hero franchise has sold more than 14 million games and earned more than $1 billion, according to Activision.
