Wooden toys continue to be popular at Dragon’s Toy Box, manager Tristan Hewitt says, noting that Thailand-made Plan and India-made Maya toys have been quite popular with customers seeking earth-friendly toys, or those not made in China. Games and collectibles have also been strong.

Specialty plush, collectibles, Brüder trucks and novelty items were all strong sellers recently for Kites, Tails & Toys, which sells specialty toys at its main Selbyville, Del., location as well as online via www.KitesTailsToys.com, according to the retailer’s new creative director Tom Lloyd. Heading into spring, KitesTailsToys.com customers have been stocking up on gifts, plus seasonal items like CX Blaster’s Water Balloon Launcher. “This is probably the best indication that warmer weather is just around the corner,” Lloyd tells Playthings.
