Spin Master teams with a Go Go for TV series

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 2/4/2010 10:22:00 AM

TORONTO—Spin Master is partnering with Titmouse Inc. for a music-focused animated television series called The Special Offers, musical content for which will be created in part by Go Go's drummer Gina Shock.

Spin Master will serve as the tween-targeted property's global merchandising and licensing agent, as well as its primary toy maker. Titmouse will hold the show's global musical rights.

In addition to Shock, who in recent years has penned hit songs for the likes of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Miranda Cosgrove, the series' other main player is creator Keith Fay, best known for producing the first two seasons of the Adult Swim series Metalocalypse and creative producer for the in-game cinematics of the last five Guitar Hero video games.

The show will follow four misfit kids who bond over their love of music and form the band of the series' title. Each episode will feature an original song, the sum of which will be compiled into a soundtrack album. Between seasons, a live version of the band will tour.

"Titmouse's ability as animation producers to really capture the imagination and attention of tweens, along with Gina Shock's musical influence, made this the type of unique opportunity Spin Master wanted to be part of," said Jennifer Picherack, Spin Master Entertainment executive producer.
