PASADENA, Calif.—Disney Store has named Damon Whiteside vice president of marketing of Disney Store North America

Whiteside will oversee key global marketing initiatives and lead the North American marketing strategy through in-store brand positioning, franchise and synergy development. He also brings to the role a background in digital marketing, promotions, and strategic alliances.

“I’m excited to join Disney Store at such a critical time, and believe my experience will help to achieve a compelling retail experience,” said Whiteside. “Disney’s entertainment properties are celebrated worldwide and we will present them in an innovative new way that inspires our guests as they enter a Disney Store.”

Whiteside is expected to play a key role marketing efforts surrounding this year’s launch of a store redesign as more than 300 Disney Store locations.

Whiteside is a Walt Disney insider. He began his career with Disney more than 12 years ago at Walt Disney Studios in film distribution and in-theatre marketing before joining Disney Music Group. Most recently, Whiteside was the head of marketing for Walt Disney Records.
