Gift shows expand children's product areas

By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 9/22/2009 1:08:00 PM

LAS VEGAS and NEW YORK—Two established tradeshow groups have announced plans to add dedicated children’s product areas to their gift and textile oriented markets in 2010.

On September 15, The World Market Center Las Vegas unveiled plans to debut a show called Vegas Kids next year. It will be held June 13 to 16, 2010, concurrent with its 2010 Gift + Home market and will bring together exhibitors and buyers from the areas of nursery and youth furniture, juvenile products, toys and games, children’s books, children’s apparel and gifts.

“Vegas Kids is a perfect complement to our Gift + Home show, and further solidifies our vision of being a total home marketplace,” said Philip McKay, World Market Center Las Vegas’ senior vice president. “We have tremendous momentum and we’ve been steadily attracting buyers from related industries to Las Vegas Market. We look forward to offering the children’s industry a show that consolidates the best resources for buyers regionally, nationally and internationally in a destination like no other.”

Las Vegas Market currently includes a “Vegas Kids” area on the ninth floor of the complex’s Building A that’s home to several children’s furniture firms.

Separately, showroom building 7W New York said on September 17 that its debut NYC Baby & Kids Fair will take place on the 11th floor of its facility during the 2010 7W Gift and Home Textiles Market, taking place Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009.

Exhibitors at that event will display baby and kids’ apparel, accessories, furnishings, gifts and textiles, according to even organizers.
