By Staff -- Gifts and Dec, 7/11/2002 4:35:00 PM

NEW YORK — Lego's Bionicle action figures will jump to the big screen in 2004 courtesy of Miramax Films.

The film is being produced jointly by Miramax and Lego's film and TV division, Lego Media, according to film industry trade paper Variety. It will be Miramax's first computer-animated children's feature film.

As a warm up, Miramax will release a Bionicle direct-to-video movie in September 2003.

Lego's Bionicle line features 12-inch figures with interchangeable limbs and accessories for creating customized characters.
