SAN DIEGO - Pacific Entertainment Corp. is taking its award-winning Baby Genius brand into the computer age in the U.S. through a new licensing deal with Hong Kong-based Winfat Industrial Co. Ltd.

The agreement currently grants Winfat rights to manufacture electronic learning aids including bilingual pre-school laptop computers and learning boards for distribution throughout the U.S. to mass-market and mid-tier retailers, ecommerce, specialty toy stores and book store chains through 2013. The first line of products is planned for release in spring 2011.

"This is truly an exciting time in the evolution of Baby Genius as we extend our flagship brand into the burgeoning world of computers and electronic learning aids for young children," said Larry Balaban, CCO. "Winfat is a company that has proven to be a master at producing top quality products in the category and successfully distributing those products to the nation's top retailers. We look forward to an innovative new line of products for children and parents who have grown to trust the Baby Genius brand."

Raymond Leung, assistant general manager of Winfat Industrial, said, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Pacific Entertainment to further the Baby Genius mission to provide child friendly, quality content. We look forward to introducing the Baby Genius product line to our retail partners including Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Toys R Us and many others. We anticipate an innovative new line of products that will satisfy the expectation of parents while providing a strong foundation for a long and prosperous association with this award-winning brand."

The deal was brokered by The Joester Loria Group, exclusive licensing agency for Baby Genius.
